Projects for the New Year!

New year brings with it a fresh start, resolutions, and great enthusiasm to accomplish what we have wanted for long. Most people make resolutions related to health and money..but we crafty lot have our own aspirations about crafts, so we tend to line up a separate class of crafty resolutions as well.

So what are your crafting goals for 2015? Do you plan to learn a new craft, teach a craft to someone who is new to the field, finish long pending projects, or start the big project that you have been wanting to for long.

Many of us here at AllKraftz start the year with a resolution of knitting only from stash, or doing just one project at a time The beauty of sharing resolutions with a crafting community of like minded people lies in the fact that one gets so much moral support to go ahead and fulfil one's goals from crafters who selflessly encourage you, and pat your back for every small accomplishment.

In case you are still wondering what projects to queue for the new year, we'd say make something nice and special for yourself. You always make things with someone else in mind, let your creativity be directed towards spoiling yourself, for a change.

If your new year resolution is to organise your craft supplies, we have some wonderful storage solutions for you which not only help you organise your crafts better, but let you carry your craft in style. Take a look at our selection of pretty totes and organisers:

  3. I plan to pick up at least one new craft form this year - which in all likelihood would be Quilling. As for my everlasting passions, knitting and crochet, I plan to make more meaningful stuff this year, and not just keep stashing up yarn!

  4. I'm hoping to knit with some of my oldest stash of yarn or knit some of the oldest patterns in my queue. Some of the yarn has been with me for years and it's time it got knit into something!

  5. This is going to be the year of knitting and crocheting wearables. I'll also try to learn some new techniques while knitting them. I always make wearables for everyone around me, but hardly ever make anything for myself. So there will be at least one wearable knitted for me this year.

  9. My goal is have less yarn in my stash at the end of 2015 than I have right now. And to have less patterns in my Rav queue. I've got over 300 right now. So far, I'm making negative progress. LOL!

  10. My goal for 2015 is to knit my very first pullover by the end of the year. Haha, don't really know if I'll be able to manage it. Never knit such a complicated project so far, I'm still a beginner (well, more an advanced beginner now =p).

Thanks for the giveaway, by the way. =) My Ravelery name is LittleCottonCloud, don't hesitate to add me as a friend if you'd like !

  11. De-stash, first and foremost. Then, knit more wearables for myself which should include one fitted garment at least, not just shawls!

  14. Knitting is my passion and yes I have set some crafty goals too for 2015. I will be doing a lot of lace knitting with five dpn’s using the Symfonie needles along with the bamboo and other needles. Have planned to knit a lot of amigurumi and have completed with some items. Will be writing more patterns for doilies adding some new knitting stitches. Also this year I have plans to take classes for school girls on painting and knitting. And the most important I have started teaching my 8 year old son to knit with the basic stitches and hope he will be a expert by end of 2015 and last but not least I have plan to knit a lot of things with toothpicks and pins. Happy New year and Hap Knitting to All
